Presidents Report   -    September 2018

Hello Members,

We are at the busy side of the club events calendar. Our 2-day ABA on the 15th – 16th September, if you haven’t registered please do so. Jenni is busily putting together another great Saturday Night Dinner feast along with all the usual culinary delights to keep you fed throughout the day. Lolly Jar guess for the kids ( and adults ), Saturday afternoon 3D auction, Knife and Axe and other interesting novelty events along with our raffle.

Should be a great weekend, look forward to seeing many of our members there.

Our new 3D targets have been ordered and we are now counting down the weeks until they arrive.

If all goes well on the sea freight we may be in time for the 3D Club Championships. We will have to wait and see.

There is a November Club Hunt at Ularara Station, Wanaaring NSW organized by Paul Virgo for November 2nd to 10th. Anyone interested in attending, please contact Paul Virgo or a committee person. Numbers filling fast.

The club offers the opportunity for a cub and a junior to receive a scholarship to the value of $200 to be put towards improving their archery. Could be put towards club membership, archery gear, club uniforms or other archery related expenses. Applications to be made in writing and submitted to the committee before end October.

Winners announced at the Club’s Christmas shoot and presentations early December.

There will be a  non-members/ families  fee capped at $10 that wish to attend the Christmas Lunch the club holds on our December break-up. A Christmas flier will confirm this and the lunch menu in the coming months.

Would any club member interested in doing the Coaching Course ( to become a Club Qualified Coach ) to please speak to either Paul Williams or a committee person as we are hoping to have a back up for this role in the future.

Our last working bee for the year is on 14th October and the last chance for members that have yet to attend a working bee , redeem themselves and not have to hand back their club key. We will also be offering the 13th October Saturday for bail making to get the new white course up and running. If you cannot attend either of these dates and wish to donate some time to perform a task at the club ,please speak to a committee person.

Could members also please consider the upcoming committee positions for our November AGM.

We have applied to host the 2019 ABA State Titles but have unofficially been informed we were not successful as Colac Archers  looks like hosting them. We did have allocated our usual 2-Day ABA in September 2019 again.

As soon as we receive the approved calendar , we will confirm along with our club events calendar for 2019.

It is with sorrow to let members know the passing of Neil Rodda, Life Member of Lilydale Bowmen.

He passed away in the month of August. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Rodda family.

Both Neil and Ali have held various committee positions and always put the club first in their many weekends spent at the club. You have the clubs deepest sympathy.

Can we please ask members to bring correct money when paying for the shoot registrations at our club events.

We also request that when you fill in your scorecard details please let us know your shooting style division grade and if you are shooting the green peg or red peg. This will help us quickly organize the results at the end of each days shoots for a quick presentation. Thank you.
